A tragic incident occurred in Cincinnati when 3-year-old Kingsley Renee Wright was found dead two days after Christmas, following an apparent dog attack. The Hamilton County Coroner’s Office confirmed that Kingsley, who was visiting family, died on December 27 from injuries inflicted by the dogs at the home.

In a heartbreaking 911 call obtained by local station WXIX, Kingsley’s father described the devastating discovery. “I just woke up and my daughter is dead,” he said. “There’s blood everywhere, I don’t know what happened. I don’t understand what went on.” The father told officers that his dogs were “in a cage” and not loose when he awoke to find his daughter lifeless.

Cincinnati Police officers, who responded to the scene, were advised to turn off their body cameras due to the gruesome nature of Kingsley’s injuries. One officer is heard saying, “I think we’re going to need animal care to respond here to secure two dogs,” according to footage obtained by local station WLWT5.

Kingsley’s mother, Gina Smith, expressed her shock and grief, telling the station, “I would have not allowed my baby around vicious dogs. Why would I do that?” Through tears, she continued, “I just want to know why and how.”

Cincinnati Animal CARE confirmed that they were called to the scene on December 27 to remove three dogs from the home. The animals are now being held at a shelter for the mandatory 10-day bite quarantine period.

Kingsley’s obituary remembered her as “a happy girl with a beautiful laugh and smile” who loved to sing and dance for her family. “She always saw the positive and bright side of everything around her,” the tribute read. Kingsley is survived by her mother and two brothers, Devin and Bradley.

In the wake of this devastating loss, a GoFundMe page has been set up to support Kingsley’s family. The tragic event serves as a heartbreaking reminder of the potential dangers of unregulated animal interactions, leaving the family and community searching for answers.
