Allison Holker in trouble after Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss’s death
Family and friends of the late Stephen “tWitch” Boss are speaking out against the upcoming memoir by his widow, Allison Holker, accusing her of launching a “smear campaign” against the beloved dancer and TV personality. Holker’s new biography, This Far, is set to be released on February 4, and in a recent interview with People magazine, she revealed disturbing details about her late husband’s struggles with substance abuse.
Holker, 36, claimed that after Boss’s suicide in December 2022, she discovered a “cornucopia” of drugs, including pills, mushrooms, and other substances she had to “look up,” all hidden inside his shoeboxes. In the People interview, she recounted a deeply emotional moment when she was cleaning out their closet with a close friend.
“It was a really triggering moment for me because there were a lot of things I discovered in our closet that I did not know existed. It was very alarming to me to learn that there was so much happening that I had no clue [about],” Holker said. She added, “It was a really scary moment in my life to figure that out, but it also helped me process that he was going through so much and he was hiding so much, and there must have been a lot of shame in that.”
These comments quickly sparked a backlash, especially from those close to tWitch. Courtney Ann Platt, a family friend, took to Instagram to criticize Holker’s memoir and the public allegations. “Anyone who knows me, knows I go straight to source during a conflict and handle my business but since there’s clearly no shame in being so public,
I haven’t said a word in two years but here I go,” Platt wrote. She accused Holker of using her husband’s name for personal gain, adding, “Here you go and write a book with all the dirty laundry smearing his name and attempting to dim the bright loyal, loving, light that was your husband, my friend.”
Further backing Platt, tWitch’s brother, Dré Rose, shared Platt’s post on his Instagram Stories with the caption “No lies told…,” while resharing additional critical stories from others who have voiced their concerns over the biography’s portrayal of tWitch.
The criticism continues to grow, with many questioning the timing and intent behind Holker’s revelations, as her late husband’s legacy remains a deeply emotional topic for those who knew him best. The memoir’s release is expected to further fuel the debate over how tWitch’s memory should be honored in the wake of his tragic death.
