Zooey Deschanel and Jonathan Scott Admit They’ve Done ‘Absolutely 0% More Work’ on Wedding Plans Since Engagement
Zooey Deschanel and her fiancé Jonathan Scott have yet to make significant progress on their wedding plans, despite getting engaged in August 2023. The couple, who are both busy with their respective careers and family commitments, shared that their hectic schedules have left little room for planning their special day.
Speaking to People, Scott humorously admitted, “I can guarantee you we have done absolutely 0% more work. Maybe that’ll be my New Year’s resolution—we’ve got to get this wedding figured out.”
Although they haven’t finalized many details, the couple has offered glimpses into their vision for the big day. Scott previously expressed his desire for a “kicka** party,” while also emphasizing their goal of keeping the ceremony intimate, according to Daily Mail.
The proposal itself was a heartfelt moment. Scott popped the question at Edinburgh Castle during a family trip, with Deschanel’s children, Elsie and Charlie, playing a central role in the special occasion. People reported that the proposal featured a pipe band, a serenade with Neil Young’s “Harvest Moon,” and a banner held by the children that read, “Will you marry me?”
Despite the delay in wedding planning, Deschanel and Scott have been open about the joy of blending their families. They’ve expressed happiness in co-parenting Deschanel’s children with her ex-husband, Jacob Pechenik, and creating a united family.
While the couple may not have wedding plans set in stone just yet, their relationship continues to thrive as they navigate their busy lives and growing family.
