Kimberly Guilfoyle’s ‘MAGA Funeral’ Dress at Tiffany Trump’s Wedding Sparks Outrage: ‘Who Wears Black to a Wedding?’

When Kimberly Guilfoyle made a bold fashion statement at Tiffany Trump’s wedding in November 2022, the internet erupted in a firestorm of reactions. Wearing a striking black dress in stark contrast to the pastel-hued crowd, Guilfoyle quickly became the center of social media criticism.
Many were baffled by her choice of attire for a wedding, with one person asking, “I’m sorry, but who wears black to a wedding?” Another added, “Elvira. Mistress of the Dark. That’s who that is, right?” The comments continued to pour in, some humorous, others scathing.
One critic remarked, “People that want to be photoshopped out of a photo,” while another questioned, “Is black what you wear when you’ve slept with the groom and you’re trying to rub it in the bride’s face at her wedding?”
One user humorously wrote, “As an aging goth, I find this question offensive,” while another said, “I don’t get the wings on the back either.” Some suggested, “To be fair – the GOP was buried that day in the elections,” as the criticisms kept mounting.
Tiffany Trump married Michael Boulos at Mar-a-Lago on November 12, 2022, despite Hurricane Nicole threatening the event. Donald Trump walked his daughter down the aisle, and Guilfoyle, the 53-year-old former Fox News host and current fiancée of Donald Trump Jr., became an online laughingstock for her sartorial choice, as per Independent.
Her black dress, adorned with dramatic wings, was seen as a major fashion misstep, especially at a wedding that seemed to call for lighter, pastel tones. The controversy made its way onto The View, where hosts offered their takes on the outfit. Alyssa Farah Griffin bluntly stated, “She didn’t understand the assignment,” calling the dress more appropriate for a “MAGA funeral.”
Ana Navarro sarcastically quipped that perhaps Guilfoyle understood the assignment perfectly, given the political context. Sara Haines tried to defend the outfit, citing Guilfoyle’s New York background, where black is a common fashion choice.
To add fuel to the fire, it seemed Ivanka Trump may have thrown some shade at Guilfoyle. A photo from the wedding showed women dressed in soft pastels, while Guilfoyle’s black dress was conspicuously cropped out of the family photo.
Marriage etiquette expert Elaine Swann weighed in, saying, “It is absolutely acceptable for a female to wear a black dress to a wedding,” as long as the dress wasn’t too revealing. While wearing black to a wedding was once considered a faux pas, modern perspectives have become more lenient. However, Guilfoyle’s controversial choice certainly stole the spotlight for all the wrong reasons, as per Daily Mail.
