Meghan Markle Criticized for Alleged Over-Controlling Behavior Compared to Military Precision
Meghan Markle is facing fresh criticism over her public persona, with British philosopher and writer Kathleen Stock accusing the Duchess of being a “ruthless control freak” about her image, despite presenting herself as “natural” and “real.”
In her latest column for The Times, Stock took aim at Meghan’s recent actions and the image she crafts for herself, suggesting that Meghan’s approach to self-presentation is far from the spontaneous and authentic persona she claims to embody.
“…has there ever been a person so obviously prone to ruthless control-freakery about every aspect of self-presentation, while purporting to be natural, candid and ‘real’, as Meghan?” Stock asked in her column, highlighting the contradictions between Meghan’s public persona and the carefully curated image she projects.
Stock didn’t stop there, also noting how “folksy” Meghan’s recent show appeared, especially when Prince Harry made a seemingly “spontaneous” appearance. Stock criticized the way the moment was orchestrated, suggesting that Harry’s entrance and “well-practiced spontaneous-looking cuddle” were far from genuine.
Before wrapping up, Stock delivered another harsh critique of Meghan’s public presentation, referring to the Duchess’s first Instagram post about “2025” written in the sand. “Prussian military maneuvers have looked less planned,” Stock quipped, suggesting that Meghan’s social media content, often seen as informal or personal, was in fact carefully staged.
The sharp remarks from Kathleen Stock add to the growing criticism Meghan Markle has faced over her public image, with many questioning the authenticity of the carefully crafted moments she shares with the world. Despite presenting herself as candid and open, Stock’s column suggests that Meghan’s control over her public persona contradicts her self-proclaimed authenticity.
